Beaded Reader

Beaded Reader

"Once you learn to read you will be forever free." - Frederick Douglas

An authentic hand made African sculpture that celebrates "the reader" and the power of reading and literature. It depicts someone absorbed in a book. Quietly reading to themselves as they become lost in thought and a world of words. This statuette was created for those that are thoughtful, learned and have a true passion for reading.

This piece of African Decor is hand carved from SeSe wood, painted and then adorned with brilliant colored glass beads. Measures 9.5 inches (Height) x 4.7 inches (Length) x 3.5 inches (Width) and weighs 1.5 pounds. The sculpture has a painted finish.

Imported from Ghana and crafted by Master Carver Theophilus Anum and his team of apprentices. Eco-Friendly and uses recycled glass beads.

Each wooden sculpture is unique and hand made so there may be slight and subtle variations in size, color pattern and/or shape. This is what makes your piece of table top decor a true piece of African art.

"The whole world opened to me when I learned to read." - Mary McLeod Bethune
